Wini just finished driving completely across the U.S! I tagged along on my bicycle by peddling 3,317 miles across ten states in 35 days. That's about 95 miles per day average. Only one flat tire and no other mechanical problems despite some pretty brutal roads.
We ended our journey on the New Jersey coast at a small town named Avon-by-the-Sea.
We began the day in Easton, Pennsylvania and the route began along the Delaware Canal which used to be a major transportation channel with barges being towed by mules. There is also a bicycle trail along the banks of the canal but the gravel was too rough for my tires so I stayed on the highway. I cut east through the town of Princeton (as in Princeton University) and took highway 33 to the coast.
To quote Forrest Gump: "I'm tired. I think I will go home." Well, not quite yet. Wini and I have more sightseeing to enjoy on our way back to Spokane in the 4-Runner.
Signing off for now.
God is good.
